Our Community Standards
MoveTogether is a supportive fitness community where users of all fitness levels come together to compete, encourage each other, and celebrate progress. We ask all users to follow our Community Guidelines to keep the community positive and safe.
The key principles:
Be respectful. Treat everyone with kindness. No harassment, bullying, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind.
Keep it appropriate. Profile photos, usernames, and all content must be appropriate for all ages.
Play fair. No cheating, manipulating fitness data, or exploiting bugs for competitive advantage.
Prioritize health. Don't promote dangerous fitness practices, extreme dieting, or disordered eating.
Respect privacy. Don't share others' personal information without consent.
No spam. No advertising, phishing, or solicitation.
How AI Moderation Works
To keep MoveTogether safe and welcoming, AI monitors all user-generated content across the app. This includes competition group chat messages, profile photos, usernames, and any other content you share within MoveTogether.
What AI monitors:
Messages — All messages in competition group chats are reviewed in real time. The AI flags content that includes harassment, hate speech, bullying, explicit or sexual content, threats, spam, or any other violations of our Community Guidelines.
Photos — Profile photos and any images shared in chats are scanned for inappropriate, explicit, or offensive content. Photos that violate our guidelines are automatically removed.
Usernames and profile content — Display names and bios are checked for offensive language, slurs, or inappropriate content.
What happens when content is flagged:
The AI evaluates the severity of the violation and takes action accordingly. In some cases, the offending content is automatically removed, and you'll receive a notification explaining why. For more serious or repeated violations, your account may receive a warning or suspension.
AI moderation happens instantly, so harmful content is addressed before it affects other users. Our support team also reviews flagged content to ensure accuracy and fairness.
Enforcement Actions
Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, you may receive:
Content Removal — The specific message, photo, or content is removed. You'll receive a notification explaining which guideline was violated.
Warning — A formal warning is issued to your account for minor or first-time offenses. Warnings are logged in your account history.
Temporary Suspension — Your access to the app is temporarily restricted for more serious or repeated violations. You'll see a message explaining the suspension duration and reason. During a suspension, your competition scores are frozen, and you cannot interact with other users.
Permanent Ban — Your account is permanently terminated for severe violations (threats, explicit content involving minors, repeated offenses after suspensions). This action is not reversible.
Appealing a Decision
If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you can appeal by emailing [email protected] with your username and a description of why you believe the decision was incorrect. Our team will review your appeal and respond within 48 hours. Content removal and warnings can be reversed if the appeal is granted. Suspensions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
