What Data Does MoveTogether Collect?
Account information: Your name, email address, username, and profile photo — provided by you when you create an account.
Fitness data: Steps, active calories, exercise minutes, and workout information — read from your connected fitness tracker. For Apple Watch users, this data is read from Apple Health on your device. For other trackers, it's synced securely from the tracker provider's servers.
Competition data: Your competition scores, rankings, and participation history.
Usage data: Anonymous analytics on how you use the app (which screens you visit and features you use) help improve MoveTogether. You can opt out of this in Settings → Privacy → Help improve MoveTogether with anonymous analytics.
How Your Fitness Data Is Handled
MoveTogether stores your fitness data on our secure servers to power the app's core features — leaderboards, competitions, activity feeds, achievements, and more. This data includes steps, active calories, exercise minutes, and workout information synced from your connected fitness tracker.
For Apple Watch users, this data is read from Apple Health on your device and sent to our servers. For other trackers, it's synced from the tracker provider's servers via secure OAuth connections.
Competition scores are calculated server-side to ensure security and fairness, preventing anyone from manipulating their scores. Your health data stays in Apple Health (or your tracker's platform) as the original source of truth. MoveTogether reads it — we never modify it.
Who Can See Your Data?
Competition participants can view your competition-related stats on the leaderboard, depending on your privacy settings.
Friends can see your activity in the social feed, subject to your privacy settings.
MoveTogether's systems process your data to calculate competition scores and generate achievements.
No one else. We never sell your personal information or share your raw health data with third parties.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption.
Competition scores are calculated server-side to prevent manipulation.
All connections between your device and our servers are encrypted.
We use Supabase for secure data storage with row-level security policies.
Downloading Your Data
You can request a copy of all the data MoveTogether has about you:
Go to Settings → Privacy → Download My Data.
Tap the button to request an export.
You'll receive an email with a download link when your export is ready (typically within 24–48 hours).
Deleting Your Data
To delete your account and all associated data:
Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete My Account (or Settings → Account → Delete Account).
You may be asked to confirm your identity.
Confirm your choice.
This action is permanent and cannot be undone. All of your data — including your profile, competition history, achievements, friends connections, and any stored activity data — will be permanently deleted.

RevenueCat — Subscription management
OneSignal — Push notifications
OpenAI — Powers Coach Spark AI
